Also known as Larry Jackson Rare Coins, this PCGS and NGC certified dealer has served Atlanta coin collectors for more than three decades. Much of their inventory is not kept in the showroom - especially their rare currency and early U.S. coins - so call ahead if you are searching for something specific. Northlake Stamp and Coin, founded in 1969, is one of Atlanta's top coin dealers. They operate two locations within the city, both of which offer a complete selection of stamps, coins, and collector supplies. Their inventory also includes sports cards and other collectibles.

Their coin selection includes US Mint sets, proof coins, rare coins, foreign coins and currency, paper currency, and historical U.S. coins.

An authorized PCGS dealer, Northlake offers appraisal services. Many of their coins can be purchased online, though their full inventory is only viewable in their retail shop.

Augusta's only locally-owned gold and silver coin shop, the Augusta Coin Exchange aims to offer professional service regardless of your bullion experience level or budget.

Hancock & Harwell Rare Coins and Precious Metals, located in Atlanta, is one of the region's top destinations for coin collectors and bullion enthusiasts. They buy and sell rare coins, gold, silver, and platinum bullion coins, and related numismatic collectibles. They specialize in rare American gold and silver coinage, particularly that from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Founded in 1976, the owners - Jeff Garrett and Bob Harwell - are members of most of the large numismatic groups in the country. The staff is available to evaluate your coin and precious metal portfolio and suggest ways to improve your financial strategy. They do have minimum purchase requirements - typically set at 10 ounces - for some forms of bullion, though most items are sold with no minimums.

US Mint at Dahlonega

A branch of the United States Mint was established in Dahlonega in 1835, the result of a gold rush in north Georgia. It minted more than $6 million in gold coins over less than three decades, closing in 1861 as the gold rush came to an end. Today, these Georgia-minted gold coins are considerably difficult to find and very collectible.
